What does it mean to you about winning this award?
Winning this award gives me great pride for all the hard work over the last 4.5 years, it also gives me the confidence to continue providing a great quality bib. I have huge faith in my business and it humbles me to see so many people also believe in Bibbles.
What is your greatest business achievement to date?
I think the greatest achievement is being able to juggle family and business so well, to provide for my family and to continue growing.
Who has been the biggest influence in your business?
My husband’s support has been invaluable, especially in the first couple of years where ‘making money’ wasn’t a factor and now as Bibbles grows bigger he is my number one fan. Also, my best friend, who has been my business mentor and accountant, without her invaluable advise I probably wouldn’t be as strong as I am today.
Anything exciting going on right now or about to happen in your business?
What is exciting about Bibbles is the stockists now approaching me to sell my bibs rather than having to ‘door knock’. Bibbles is growing each month and is about to become GST registered, so a lot more happening behind the scenes.
What did you do before you started your business?
Before there were Bibbles I was a stay at home Mum to a very dribbly wee man, when I didn’t find the appropriate solution I started making my own, I had no idea that it would become a business as I had never sewn before, but I guess most babies dribble and there will never be a shortage.
