If you are looking for a quick and easy way to jazz up your broccoli and cauliflower side dish, then look no further! This creamy garlic broccoli and cauliflower recipe only uses 5 ingredients and two of them are broccoli and cauliflower!
I love broccoli, but it’s no secret that it is not always a favourite of children! My Miss 3 loves anything that has a ‘sauce’ on it and this recipe ticks that box! Its a great healthy alternative to the stock standard veges with cheese sauce!
I initially saw this recipe as I was browsing through Pinterest and pinned it about 2 years ago. I only recently rediscovered it when I was looking for inspiration on what to put with dinner. It was a very exciting rediscovery and I couldn’t wait to make it! When I put the dish on the table it was clean within minutes which is a record for a vegetable dish in our house!
Here is what you will need…
1 cup Broccoli
1 cup Cauliflower
1/4 cup Garlic Hummus
1 tsp Lemon Juice
Pepper to season
- Cut broccoli and cauliflower into small chunks
- Cook the vegetables how you like… steam it, bake it, grill it or pan fry it in a little olive oil
- Transfer cooked vegetables to a large bowl
- Mix through garlic hummus until well combined
- Add lemon juice and pepper to taste
- Serve warm or cold
**Tip: You can change up the flavour of this side dish simply by choosing a different flavour of hummus as the sauce, try beetroot or pumpkin or even basil hummus. Yum!
